Our nonprofit works with multiple community groups to provide services for the greater Los Gatos area including:

West valley Community Service Providers network

About

The West Valley Service Providers (WVSP) group is a network of community service providers. Its purpose is to share information and advocate for programs and social services for the underserved of all ages in the West Valley area of Santa Clara County, including Los Gatos, Saratoga, Campbell, Monte Sereno, Cupertino, and west San Jose. The network has been active since 2016 and seeks to increase awareness and support for service providers in the community. The network holds quarterly meetings in February, May, Septemper and November.  For more information contact network coordinator Tom Picraux at stpicraux@gmail.com

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION EDUCATION

Ride & taste project

Los Gatos Thrives has been collaorating with VTA & LGS Recreation since 2024 to educate seniors to use public transportation.

Daycation Program

The VTA “Daycation” program helps older adults learn to navigate the bus system. The Ride & Taste team (Ali Moreno, Bob Buxton, Menominee McCarter, Lisanne Kennedy, Jackie Ward, Brooke Moreno, Tylor Taylor, Tom Picraux, Dick Konrad, Greg Gentile) together with Valley Transportation Authority provides a bimonthly opportunity to take a "Daycation to learn about public transportation services, take a free ride on the #27 bus and enjoy a complimentary lunch in a lovely Los Gatos restaurant.

Luncheon celebration at a Los Gatos restaurant after ride on VTA Bus #27.  All questions answered on how to navigate the bus schedule, find bus/light rail routes and fill out the application to use a clipper card (bus pass for only $1 a ride for seniors).
